We always enjoy rainbows in the sky. But what about rainbow food? Have you ever heard about that?

Actually rainbow food consists of seven rainbow colors which play a vital role for our emotional and spiritual health. And now you must be thinking why do I need to include seven colors? I’ll tell you why. Everything on this planet is based on energy. And we are all known to the fact that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed. Do you know that every food has a vibration which may either lift you up or make you feel down?

When we buy something to eat, we primarily see the cost, the taste and some of us think about nutritional values.

Do we think about the energy of the food before eating? Unfortunately, no. Actually we are all energy beings and we take energy in the form of food which affects the energy centres in our body called “CHAKRAS” which are invisible to most of us.

We have thousands of chakras in our body and auric field but there are seven major chakras that run through the midline of your body and reflect rainbow colors. These major chakras are located on different parts of the body starting from the base of the spine and all the way up to the head (crown).

In fact, by eating these seven colors we heal these chakras and help them to stay healthy and work properly. At the same time, if we don’t take care of chakras then they start getting dim, unbalanced, misaligned and blocked which results in getting sick, feeling down, tired, dizzy, fragile, annoyed, angry, fed up and lazy.

Rainbow food and energy centres have a deep relationship. Each energy centre reflects a unique color and by eating that color we heal the corresponding energy centre. The seven energy centers are root chakra (red), sacral chakra (orange), solar plexus chakra (yellow), heart chakra (green), throat chakra (blue), third eye (indigo) and crown chakra (violet/white).

Another reason for eating rainbow food is that it provides vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to nourish your body. But one thing is to be noted that when we say colored food that doesn’t mean at all the artificial colors used while cooking food.

It’s the original natural color and vibration of the fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and herbs that will help in balancing the energy centers. This is actually a part of color therapy that how we use colors in our daily life to balance our energies.

Now we’ll discuss how multi-colored food not only makes your plate look better but also make you healthier by balancing your energy centres.

RED for SECURITY

Red color is associated with ROOT CHAKRA. It is located at the base of the spine and it deals with body’s survival including food, shelter and protection. This chakra is all about how you feel towards your survival. When we are afraid about our security and survival and lose energy and a blockage is built up. To heal this chakra, eat red colored foods such as apples, tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, beets, radishes etc.

ORANGE for CREATIVITY AND CONFIDENCE

Orange color is associated with SACRAL CHAKRA. It is located 2 inches below the navel and governs the ovaries and testes. It influences one’s ability to feel emotions, sensations, sexuality and controls the ability of letting go. This chakra governs lower abdomen, spleen, bladder, sexual organs, liver, fertility and reproduction. To keep it healthy, one should eat mangoes, oranges, apricots, sweet potatoes, peaches etc.

YELLOW for HAPPINESS & SELF-ESTEEM

Yellow is the color for SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA. It is located in the stomach area at the base of the rib cage. It is associated with personal power, self-control and self-acceptance. It gets blocked when you have low self-esteem or feel sad and depressed. To make this chakra function better eat yellow peppers, yellow pears, yellow tomatoes, pineapple, lemons etc.

GREEN for REJUVENATION

Green is the color of HEART (ANAHATA) CHAKRA which is related with love, relationships, self-appreciation and emotions. Hurt and heartbreak creates the blockages in this energy centre. Make sure that you are not keeping any burden at heart or else it will cause heart diseases, breathing disorders and blood pressure. To heal this chakra include all the green veggies in your food such as spinach, kale, rapine, beans, celery, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc.

BLUE for GOOD COMMUNICATION

Blue color is associated with THROAT CHAKRA. It is located at the throat area and related to communication, honesty, artistic expression, good judgement, out of body experiences, clairaudience and truthfulness. It gets blocked by telling a lie, ignorance, wrong self-expression and wrong intentions. It can be healed by eating blueberries, eggplant, plums etc.

INDIGO for INTUITION

Indigo is the color for THIRD EYE CHAKRA and it is located between the eyebrows. It is associated with insight, imagination, visualisation, concentration, judgement, awareness, enlightenment and consciousness. This chakra influences eyes, vision, and pituitary gland. It can be healed by eating purple grapes, raisins, purple cabbage etc.

VIOLET/WHITE for SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Violet is the color of CROWN CHAKRA and it is located on the top of the head or crown area. This chakra links us to the guidance from the divine source. It helps in maintaining a strong connection with Him and receives messages directly. It makes us able to see the things clearly and fills up with His grace. It can be healed by mushrooms, garlic, ginger, onions, coconut and lychee etc.

All in all, I’d say chakras need nourishment to shine bright and work efficiently. But you don’t need to be afraid if you feel your chakras are imbalanced and blocked because the good news is that you are the in charge of the energy you intake so you can clear and balance your chakras to heal them by many methods such as color therapy, energy healing, crystals etc.

Working with an energy healer can help you find out which of your chakras is unbalanced and work on that. So be blessed and eat rainbow food to shine bright like a rainbow in all the aspects of your life. NAMASTE!
