Alternative Medicine – it makes too much sense

0

In the ’90’s, I started reading voraciously about Alternative Medicine and cures because of my concerns relating to health issues within my family. The more I read, the more Alternative Medicine was making a lot of sense. Back then, Alternative Medicine was generally considered Voodoo, Snake Oil Magic. Any time I mentioned it to friends or family they thought I was crazy.

In the last 5 years, Alternative Medicine has become much more commonplace in North America and is slowly catching up in other parts of the world. The best part is, mainstream media is finally talking about it.

Over 20 years ago, my wife Luisa Marshall was having issues with her skin.  She ended up going to multiple doctors and skin specialists all over BC and nobody had a clue what was really wrong. The only thing they did was prescribe Cortisone Cream which helped for a few days then the symptoms would come back time and time again progressively getting worse.

The Skin specialist still had no idea what was wrong, but he wanted yet another skin sample and wanted Luisa to take more of the same prescription. I threw the prescription in the garbage on the way out and we went directly to the Naturopathic Doctor’s office down the street.

After two years of going from doctor to doctor, we flew to Vancouver (for the 3rd time from Northern BC) to see one of the best-known skin care specialists in Western Canada. On the way to his office, I spotted a Naturopathic Doctor. I told Luisa, “if the skin specialist can’t figure out what is wrong this time and gives you more drugs, we are going to see the Naturopath.”  The Skin specialist still had no idea what was wrong, but he wanted yet another skin sample and wanted Luisa to take more of the same prescription.

I threw the prescription in the garbage on the way out and we went directly to the Naturopathic Doctor’s office down the street. Within 30 minutes, this doctor figured out what was wrong and had Luisa fixed up relatively quickly. He told us what was wrong, why it happened, how to fix it and how to keep it from happening again. The best part is, we had a lifetime of lessons to keep ourselves and our family healthier. We have been going to a Naturopathic doctor for over 20 years now.

In my example, 6 doctors all over BC and 2 years of prescription didn’t fix anything at all vs 30 minutes with a Naturopathic Doctor that fixed Luisa’s issues plus educated us on how to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Would Luisa ever have been cured if we didn’t go to the Naturopath? Would her health have kept deteriorating costing our medical system a huge amount of money? The cost was $300.00 to get this fixed vs how many thousands that didn’t help at all?

How many billions could be saved in healthcare if Western medicine worked together with Alternative Medicine? I believe it’s going to happen eventually, so let’s make it happen in our generation.

We now hear more and more situations that claim people have been cured of pretty well every sickness you can think of from Alternative Naturopathic procedures. A lot of these procedures are up to 5,000 years old and work for millions of people.

Please do your homework and look at all the options you have with an open mind before making a final decision on your health. Get multiple opinions in Western and Naturopathic Doctors.

It’s your life, so make sure you are comfortable with the direction you decide on.
