MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is scheduled to come home to the Philippines on January 23.
Below is Pia’s itinerary:
- January 23 – arrival in the morning
- January 24 – grand press conference
- January 25 – grand parade, which will start at Araneta Center in Quezon City, stop at Manila and Makati, then go back to Quezon City
- January 26 – charity work
- January 27 – courtesy call in Malacañang, the Senate, and the House of Representatives
- January 28 – homecoming special at the Smart Araneta Coliseum
Pia’s homecoming was confirmed by Binibining Pilipinas Charities on their Facebook page.
Stella Araneta, Binibining Pilipinas chairperson, said that the homecoming will give the public a chance to see Pia.
“They will see her in Manila after she won Miss Universe. I think it would be a treat for many people to see her,” she said.
It remains to be seen whether Pia’s wish to extend her stay will be granted, as she wants to attend the wedding of her best friend Pauleen Luna to Vic Sotto. The wedding is scheduled for January 30.
Pia will return to the country in April for the Bb Pilipinas finals.
In the same report, Stella also spoke about what they were looking for in a Bb Pilipinas candidate: “We’re looking for beautiful girls and hoping that the most beautiful girls will have the education, and know how to handle hard work. Because we make them learn a lot of things before we present them to the press in a year.”
“We are looking for those girls who will endure the things they have to do,” she added.
Pia is currently in New York, where she has been doing a series of media interviews. She is also scheduled for activities that the Miss Universe organization has lined up for her. – Rappler.com
