Surrey Centre MP Randeep Sarai, Surrey Guildford MLA Garry Begg and Councillor Steven Pettigrew, each representing the three levels of government in Surrey, donated blood and joined SPIDS President and Founder Narima Dela Cruz, SPIDS Director Nisha Lalwani, SPIDS members and volunteers Bong Alindogan and Lina Vargas, artist/singer Harianne Alindogan, beauty queen Shawna Warhurst, and Canadian Blood Services Donor Relation Territory Manager Nancy Bryan on SPIDS Blood Drive kick off event last June 4th  at the Health Centre in Guildford.

Non-profit SPIDS, the long-time organization of Filipinos in Surrey, decided during the onset of the State of Emergency declaration by the B.C. government due to the pandemic crises, that instead of a celebration this June, they will give back to the community in honour of Filipino Heritage Month, by doing the blood drive. Now a registered partner for life with Canadian Blood Services with Partner ID SURR010428, SPIDS campaign is ongoing this June and may extend to the summer months this year.  Those who want to support, donate blood and save lives may visit blood.ca and upon eligibility, book an appointment at their earliest convenience.  Other information and steps to donate can be found on SPIDS invite page:                    https://www.facebook.com/events/271824270871633/
