Mother knows best

We owe everyday of our lives to our parents especially to a very special woman – our mom.  There is a special man in our life too but for this month, we are particularly focusing on moms.

We may not be aware of it but since birth, our parents have done so much for us. It’s crazy to think how much work moms do. They raise their kids to be the best and happiest they can be.  There are times when we do get into fights with our parents. Its normal not get along and to not agree with them on certain things.

Most times we try to do what we want and think we’re right. We often forget about how much moms worry and how much they want to protect you, like the mama bears they are.

In the end, we have to remember that our parents just want what’s best for us. Admit it. Most of the time, they’re right. Just think about it. Once upon a time, long, long, long, long, long time ago, they were like you too — cool and hip.  Whether they were actually cool as they say they were back in the day, we don’t exactly know.

But we do know that they were young at some point to get to how old they are now.  Since parents grow old and wise, they know their stuff.  They are years ahead of us.  So just accept it –mother knows best.

I hope you’ve realized that your parents are humans too. They aren’t always right.  They also make mistakes.  Since we know the crazy work that many moms out there do to make sure their kids (aka us) don’t end up as walking disasters, it is understandable that they can get a little crazy sometimes. One simply has to forgive them for their momma craziness, no matter how they nag or get nosey as they do at times are.

Mother’s Day is coming but do you know what it’s really for? I do believe that Mama’s Day is for moms.  I don’t think the day is for just appreciating them. It’s a special day to appreciate all the motherly figures in our lives including those who support, give relief, comfort, and love.

It should be a check in to see if you are always doing that, everyday throughout the year. I don’t mean buying flowers or constantly making them cards. I mean just do little things that show that you care. Make their lives a bit easier by doing little things that seem tiny enough but makes a huge difference.  From washing the dishes, to doing bigger things, like taking care of oneself. These are one of the best stuff you can do for your mom.

If you can find small ways to be more trustworthy, it would be relief to them.  They don’t need to stress and worry about you much. In the end, just show your love.  If you’re a mom reading this, have a very happy Mother’s Day. And if you’re a daughter or son, go make this day a happy and memorable one for your mom.
