Drake Medox has been established in BC’s healthcare community for over 40 years.  Starting as a healthcare employer Drake Medox provided Home Support and Community Health Workers to Vancouver Coastal Health as well as the Vancouver Island Health Authority. As an employer they understood the value of the education and training their employees needed to prepare them for the work environment. It was through their inability to find staff that met the quality standards they were looking for, that Drake Medox College was created. As an accredited private career training school their training programs meet the unique needs of healthcare and social service employers in the Lower Mainland.  Unlike other career training schools, their history as an employer ensures the training provided positions graduates to secure employment in their field of study. In 2013 the college graduated 450 Health Care Assistants, with surveys confirming that over 97% of graduates secured employment in their field of study…now that’s impressive!!!

Expanding on this success, Drake Medox College introduced two new program options; Community Support Worker, and Activity/Recreation Assistant. These new offerings are proving to be very popular among foreign trained healthcare professionals, teachers and social workers in addition to those who are already working within Canada’s healthcare system. Their recent Community Support Worker grads are being immediately employed and achieving $21/hr as their starting wage.

“I believe that taking the HCA program at Drake Medox College was the key to my success in finding a good job.  Thank you to all the staff for being so kind and supportive.  It was a blessing that I found this college, and am grateful for the great training I received.” – Ivory S. (HCA Program Grad)

Over 86% of Drake Medox students are referred by other students and ambassadors within the community. “We work hard to provide our students with the best training and educational experience possible, as we appreciate the value of word of mouth” stated Barbara Fry. “The referrals we receive and the numerous testimonials we have from both students and employers are a strong testament to the value of our programs, and the quality of training we provide.”
