Popular Filipino musician, singer/songwriter Ely Buendia performed at the Massey Theatre in New Westminster on Sunday. The former founding member, songwriter and lead vocals of Eraserheads, performed to a massive Filipino Canadian audience who got the biggest music treat of their lives.
His top charting and critically acclaimed compositions gained so much momentum that his hit songs are now considered classics on its own. Buendia and his band performed most of their hit songs such as “El Bimbo”, “Magasin”, “Pare Ko” to name a few.
Vancouver celebrities Star Bernardo and Papa Bear Jerry Legaspi hosted the show.
Back in early 2007, Buendia reportedly suffered a heart attack in the middle of a performance and was rushed to an intensive care unit. Eight years later, the 44 year old musician shows no sign of slowing down and rocked his New Westminster audience in Canada.
